Director of Finance
Title: Director of Finance
Reports to: Executive Director
Type: Full-time / Exempt
Salary range: $65,000 – $75,0000 annually
Description:
The Director of Finance is a member of the senior leadership team who manages all
aspects of the agency’s financial health and long-term growth and manages the financial policies and procedures to ensure all assets are protected.
Responsibilities:
Overall responsibilities include:
- Oversee and coordinate all financial activities for the agency; lead the monthly close process; monitor cash flow; manage financial reporting to all sources both internal and external; retain control over financial software
- Lead finance staff and serve as a backup for all financial tasks including payroll
- Prepare the agency for growth in operations
- Manage the annual cycle of government grants; interpret legislative and programmatic rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local guidelines
- Protect the agency’s assets through partnerships with bank and investment managers; manage risk through partnership with insurance broker
- Ensure internal controls are adequate and substantiating documentation is approved and available; ensure that all purchases, grants and contracts will pass independent and governmental audits
- Lead annual financial budget process and provide ongoing support to operations
- Participate in developing new business by drafting prospective work plan budgets and determining cost effectiveness of prospective service delivery
- Work with leadership to ensure programmatic success through regular reporting, cost analysis support, and compliance with all contractual and programmatic requirements
- Define and respond to operation’s needs
- Lead external audit and 990 processes
- Prepare 1099s, W-2Gs, and charitable gaming reports
- Interact with and provide information to Finance Committee and Board of Directors
- Prepare and enter revenue entries to the accounting system; reconcile cash received to donations recorded in the donation application
- Reconcile GL to bank accounts
- Prepare and enter several month end entries and ensure correct accounting principles are followed for all transactions
Physical Requirements and Cognitive Skills:
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Typing and using a computer for long periods of time
- Ability to manage multiple tasks on a timely basis and communicate progress to supervisor
- Ability to ensure accuracy in the general ledger and maintain confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills
- Possess strong analytical skills, good strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role
- Advanced computer literacy including word processing, Excel, accounting software, and Google suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA
- 3 years of experience in social work or closely related field
- Experience working in QuickBooks Online

Clinical Director
Title: Clinical Director

About SJC:
St. John Center serves individuals experiencing homelessness by addressing barriers to self-sufficiency and housing stability. Through outreach, day shelter, supportive services, and supportive housing, we provide trauma-informed care to individuals with complex mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
Position Summary
The Clinical Director provides organization-wide leadership for all behavioral health and
billable clinical services across St. John Center’s programs. This role ensures high-quality, compliant, and sustainable clinical care for clients with high-acuity mental and behavioral health needs, including serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and chronic medical and psychosocial complexity.
The Clinical Director oversees clinical operations, diagnosis and treatment planning,
credentialing, billing compliance, and Medicaid revenue performance, working closely
with program leadership and the Director of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership and Direct Care
- Provide clinical oversight across all St. John Center programs.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments, establish DSM diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Coordinate care for clients with high-acuity behavioral health needs, including crisis intervention and co-occurring disorders.
- Lead multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and provide clinical consultation to staff.
- Ensure trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and evidence-based practices.
Credentialing & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee and maintain provider credentialing with Kentucky Medicaid, Medicare (CMS), IRISE, and other applicable payers.
- Ensure compliance with licensure, supervision, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor clinical documentation to ensure medical necessity and payer compliance.
Billing & Revenue Cycle Oversight
- Oversee all billable clinical services and documentation.
- Complete or supervise prior authorizations and re-authorizations.
- Select, coordinate, and manage the external billing provider.
- Monitor claims, denials, and reimbursement trends.
- Partner with the Director of Finance to manage Medicaid reimbursements, revenue forecasting, and budget projections.
Systems, Quality & Staff Development
- Oversee EHR use to ensure data quality and audit readiness.
- Support clinical staff through supervision, training, and performance feedback.
- Promote staff retention and sustainable clinical workloads in a high-acuity environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Independent clinical licensure in Kentucky (LCSW or LPCC)
- Experience diagnosing and treating serious mental illness and co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare behavioral health billing and documentation
- Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills
Preferred
- Experience serving people experiencing homelessness
- Prior clinical leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with credentialing, audits, and Medicaid-funded programs
Compensation
- Base Salary: $75,000
- Performance-Based Incentives: Total annual compensation may exceed $90,000–$100,000, based on:
- Medicaid and third-party reimbursement performance

housing and providing the ongoing support needed to maintain a stable living
environment utilizing the principles of Housing First, Trauma-Informed and Person-
Centered Care, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Case Management, and
Harm Reduction.

Responsible for assisting homeless individuals in obtaining and maintaining permanent housing and providing the ongoing support needed to maintain a stable living environment utilizing the principles of Housing First, Trauma-Informed and Person- Centered Care, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based Case Management, and Harm Reduction. Contribute to additional single-site permanent supportive housing start-up tasks as needed.

Safety and Services Specialist: Sheehan Landing
Title: Safety and Services Specialist
Reports to: Director of Operations
Type: PRN / Non-exempt
Description:
Responsible for a variety of tasks related to internal and external security, supportive
services, and the compassionate, efficient delivery of assistance to the residents at the
Sheehan Landing residential complex.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Support Property: Collaborate with other staff to ensure property is safe sor residents, staff, partners, guest and volunteers.
- Monitor Resident Flow and Safety: Oversee the orderly entry, exit, and movement of residents within and around the property; actively monitor for safety and address any concerns as they arise.
- Resident Engagement and Relationship Building: Develop respectful, compassionate relationships with residents, staff and partners; communicate and support property expectations; engage in housing-related discussions and goal planning with case managers and residents.
- Conflict De-escalation and Incident Response: Intervene in resident disputes with calm and professionalism; de-escalate tense situations and manage behavioral incidents appropriately.
- Provide Direct Social Services: Support residents with essential services such as obtaining identification documents, transportation passes, and referrals to other programs.
- Data Entry and Recordkeeping: Accurately document services and resident interactions in multiple databases and resident files as required.
- Coordinate External Services and Volunteers: Liaise with partner agencies to facilitate on-site service delivery; welcome and assist volunteers; fill in for volunteer roles when needed (e.g., coffee service, hygiene distribution, phone coverage, check-ins).
- Maintain Clean and Safe Environment: Help ensure the property and surrounding property remain clean, organized, and safe; assist with the sorting and distribution of donations and material goods.
- Support Staff Collaboration and Transitions: Work with leadership and case managers during shift changes and support cross-program collaboration by sharing relevant client needs and updates.
- Serve as Agency Representative: Greet and guide visitors, donors, and guests; serve as a welcoming and informative presence on behalf of the organization.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Utilizing basic clinical skills to build rapport with clients and offering insights to the team regarding best practices.
- Functioning as a member of the team, contributing to daily needs, providing basic services to all-day to guests, facilitating group life skills instruction, and conducting intake assessments with new clients.
- Employing components of de-escalation daily.
- Completing necessary record-keeping in the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and completing other documentation as required by agency and specific situations.
- Addressing issues, problems, or questions of policy or procedure that may arise, defusing tensions, and communicating a shift or incident summary to the immediate supervisor and other staff members as needed.

Residential Peer Support Specialist: Sheehan Landing
Title: Residential Peer Support Specialist – Sheehan Landing
Reports to: Sheehan Landing Program Manager

Description:
The Residential Peer Support Specialist at Sheehan Landing provides support and mentoring for individuals in St. John Center’s single-site program. In tandem with other members of the supportive housing team, the peer support specialist assists residents achieve their self-determined goals while providing support with connection to resources, The Residential Peer Support Specialist draws upon their lived experience to provide a unique level of authenticity and understanding with clients while offering insights to the team regarding best practices that align with Harm Reduction, Housing First, Trauma-informed and Person-centered models of service delivery.

Responsibilities:
The Residential Peer Support Specialist provides positive support and helps formerly
unhoused residents achieve housing stability through such activities as:
- Teaching and assisting residents with activities of daily living, and sustaining a new apartment
- Helping residents to locate and access community resources such as TARC, grocery shopping, food banks, employment, SNAP and social security benefits
- Accompanying clients to medical and mental health appointments as needed
- Initiating and engaging in conversations around harm reduction and recovery
- Accompanying clients seeking treatment and/or recovery support
- Assisting clients in creating and sustaining community connections
- Engaging in crisis intervention, supportive counseling, and life skills coaching
- Facilitating harm reduction and/or peer support groups, as necessary
- Document and communicate client interactions with data collection systems
The Housing Peer Support Specialist is a member of St. John Center staff as a member of the housing team and will:
- Function both collaboratively and independently
- Communicate in a clear and timely manner
- Align practices with program objectives, goals, and philosophies
- Abide by St. John Center guidelines and policies
- Document client interactions
- Adhere to confidentiality guidelines and maintaining healthy professional boundaries
